Concept
The collection shown here reflects my search for images that visualise the inner landscapes of the soul. In this search, I trekked through the Atlas Mountains in Morocco. I wanted to find places with out visible signs of human intervention. The days of walking and nightly photography lit only by moonlight had a magical, almost spiritual, effect. It appeared to me like an underwater world, unbelievably silent and peaceful, yet filled with an inner life. I had the feeling of standing on the brink of the realm of death in a landscape that souls released from the body must pass through on their way to eternal light.
